Data Protection Complaints.
To provide counselling services, I collect and process personal information such as your name, contact details, emergency contact information, and other information relevant to the counselling process.
I also maintain brief counselling records and session notes. These notes are kept solely for professional and clinical purposes, to support continuity of care and to meet legal, insurance, and professional requirements.
All personal information and counselling records are stored securely and treated as confidential. Access is restricted to me and information will not be disclosed to third parties without your consent unless I am legally required to do so, or where there is a serious concern regarding your safety or the safety of others.
Records are retained for an appropriate period in accordance with professional guidelines and legal obligations, after which they are securely destroyed.
If you have concerns about how your personal information is collected, stored, used, or protected, you may raise a complaint in writing. I will acknowledge receipt of your complaint in writing within 30 days and will investigate the matter in accordance with my complaints procedure.
You have the right to request access to your personal information, request corrections to inaccurate information, restrict or object to certain processing activities where applicable, and make enquiries regarding how your data is processed and stored.
If you remain dissatisfied with the outcome of your complaint relating to the processing of your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent authority for upholding information rights and data protection law.
